  1. Hello – I’m still trying to locate a recording/CD of
“Mantovani – Grand Canyon Suite” that you referred to a while back.
Is it perhaps under a different title – Grofe, etc?..

    • Yeah, you know, I’ve given that considerable thought and did some researching myself and realized that back then we may have used “Mantovani” as a generic term for any easy listening music.
Therefore, it just stuck that it was Mantovani when it could have been by any of the other top E.L. guys back then – or even any of the Ferde Grofe versions done by major orchestras. It was from my friend’s parent’s collection so it could have been any Grand Canyon Suite recording – but it was “Mantovani” to us.
I’ve corrected the album reference in the list.
But if you ever do find this to be true – please let me know!

Any assistance would be much appreciated!…

  3. High praise from the 00 to rank Pink Floyd at number 1. That had to be an incredible experience (times 3). I am envious since I don’t have anything even close to compare it with in my concert going days. I’ve heard stories about Jethro Tull and early Genesis putting on unusual shows that blew people away but I can imagine Floyd being one of the best.
