EXPERIENCE ROCK HISTORY!
An artist should never have to explain himself or his art, but since this is a text-driven site 00individual as the writer will explain an overdue disclaimer – but as the artist will explain nothing about the header art for this post.
00individual was talking with a friend recently and he questioned the exclusion of certain high profile Rock bands and artists like the Eagles and Bruce Springsteen from the
Here’s the answer: This blogsite seriously aims to recreate the ambiance and thrilling vibe of the ’60s and ’70s and in doing so Gonzo-journalism reigns and since 00individual had an incredible ride through a historic time, honesty is easily given.
So, what’s that got to do with “the Boss?”
Well, while we all see and hear the same things every day, we have mentally, physically and aesthetically different viewpoints. So no matter how talented and popular the Eagles and “the Boss” were they were too country and mainstream, respectively, for our Tribe as we were ALL Psychedelic Rockers into JIMI HENDRIX, the WHO – LIVE AT LEEDS, & QUADROPHENIA, the ROLLING STONES – STICKY FINGERS, TEN YEARS AFTER – CRICKLEWOOD GREEN, QUATERMASS,
ZZ TOP’S – FIRST ALBUM, the PERFORMANCE ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK, PINK FLOYD – MEDDLE & DSOTM, DAVID BOWIE – ZIGGY STARDUST & ALLADIN SANE, ROBIN TROWER – TWICE REMOVED FROM YESTERDAY, NEKTAR – A TAB IN THE OCEAN, THUNDERCLAP NEWMAN – HOLLYWOOD DREAM, VANGELIS O.- EARTH, LED ZEPPELIN III, GOLDEN EARRING – MOONTAN and many, many others.
We did however have a fine appreciation for the country and folk-tinged Rock of CROSBY, STILLS, NASH AND YOUNG – DEJA VU, ELTON JOHN – TUMBLEWEED CONNECTION and THE BAND – MUSIC FROM BIG PINK.
Therefore the Top 79 is a Time Capsule Soundtrack of specific music that represents what our Tribe preferred on a day-to-day basis.
Anyone can compile “Top” lists from any given year merely by sales and/or chart positions alone, and many do, but to compile the Top 79 of the entire decade of the ’70s requires insightful decisions made by someone who lived that era in order to properly showcase the albums that truly touched us beyond the top sellers by the popular groups of each year.

as the Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s” and other obvious choices are not on the list – this allowed lesser known mind-blowing bands their due.
00individual was a Record Store Manager and a Rack Jobber in L.A. on the days that the first Eagles and Springsteen albums were released and played them that day and they were good, and that’s the real issue, everything was good back then, we loved it all, just some more than others.
Classic Rock Concerts from the Classic Rock era featuring their Historic Albums provided deeply personal, yet righteously uniting music – no matter who your favorites were.
