  1. A Teac 2340? You were very fortunate. I wanted one so badly but that dream always seemed to go up in smoke! Did you have the entire Satanic Majesties… on reel-to-reel? The original box is worth a small fortune as it had the same 3D cover as the album but smaller in size. It was very rare!

    • I acquired the Teac AND a Sansui QR-4500 Quadraphonic Receiver/power station AND 4 Altec Lansing speakers thru my time at Crane’s Inglewood Record Store – at cost – (and possibly at pure profit to him) as Crane was “selling” electronics thru his Record Stores – all kinds o’ shady operations took place but I think that was part and parcel of the territory of most independent ventures back then. Heck, all you needed to start a bona-fide record and tape store was $2,000.00 and you were in biz; fixtures, inventory and rent. Back then you could make stuff happen.
Enough time has lapsed, I need to lay it all down in a post as, once again, we didn’t have to do too much other than hold on tight for the daily ride – cool shit was always happening. Trippy times.

Thanks for the alert, I just accessed my personal collection of RtoR tapes and have not opened any yet, but I’ll check to see if I have one of the 3D reel boxes.
