EXPERIENCE ROCK HISTORY!
On March 6th, 2013, a Rock ‘n’ Roll Legend moved on to a higher plane.
Alvin Lee, a stone true Rock Guitar God, has left us with the definitive sound, attitude, dedication and image of what Rock ‘n’ Roll is, and can be.
While nearly all of the classic Rock musicians were five to ten years older than I during their prime and their historic rise, I always felt close enough in age to feel as a peer, which made my relationship to them as a Rocker myself that much more enjoyable as we went through the same historic times together.
They were truly men and women I could look up to regardless of their Rock ‘n’ Roll lifestyles and probably because of them.
Alvin Lee was a favorite guitarist with the group I ran with and hung out with back in the very earliest days of TYA’s first LP and up through “A Space In Time”. The pad I shared always had music playing and “Ten Years After”, “Undead”, “Stonedhenge”, ” Ssssh” and “Cricklewood Green” were on high rotation – we knew all the tracks and loved ’em all – so you could say that during those “formative” years we grew up with Alvin Lee and Company.
Alvin Lee is/was only eight years older than I – and I know my time is coming too, which is why I’ll continue to hammer out these True Life Chronicles of those Once In A Lifetime Historic Times when the world was a magical place to be experiencing so that anyone interested in the way it really was can glean a little of it from 00individual until I can no more archive and chronicle Rock History.
With that said; here’s a very cool review of a truly historic TYA concert from 1970 –
I was there – I wish every Rocker could have been there too!

Long Live Alvin Lee and Ten Years After!
Long Live Rock!
